I operate on the premise that people need people

As a software developer and consultant, I’ve seen the importance of collaboration first hand. No good software is built by individuals, it is built by teams, teams made of people, and people are complex. I have set out to explore what would be possible if more organizations recognized the significance of progressive collaboration. In my experience, collaboration should be approached with care, humanity, and strategy. No success, no win, no IPO, has been done in isolation, every success was due to a collaboration of efforts, resources, and people who cared. One thing I enjoy the most is observing and studying how people relate to each other and ways in which those interactions and relationships can create healthy environments. My experiences and observations have led me to this question: what would it mean if business and community leaders embraced that people need people? How would we hire? How would we build teams? What kinds of cultural experiences would we facilitate in our communities to celebrate differences and see our similarities? I believe by embracing progressive collaboration our work and communities can be transformed. Are we brave enough to move to a world that is people-forward? It begins by asking the right questions.
